After last years' trips to Llyn Llydaw and Halfway House, we got up bright and early last Wednesday to go up the Miners Track.

I am an unfit, diabetic 40 year old with Chronic Ankle Sprain, Sharon is 36 and the kids are 13, 9 (Aspergers) and 6.

Good time was made to Llyn Glas, but then the cloud came down and we realised how difficult it was going to be. I hadn't experienced Vertigo for at least 20 years, but seeing your kids climbing up wet rocks with rucksacks threatening to overbalance them, knowing how far the drop is, brought it all back to me:eek:

A lot of people were getting lost up there, but we finally made it in 4.5 hours after a lot of stops. Knowing how my ankle would react to descending the Llanberis Path, we got the 5 of us onto the last 4 seats on the next train.

The fright of realising what the climb was like, coupled with the bad weather made us abandon the Glyders walk were planning, but at least we did it:)
