Planning to head up next weekend (17th Feb) with a couple of other experienced hill walkers, for the first time in a few years. Any suggestions for the best / safest route for this time of year would be much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Tim

Most of the routes up Snowdon should be ok for experienced hillwalkers at this time of year. If I was walking my preference would be ascending The Pyg Track from Pen y Pas to the summit & then return via the zigzags and The Miners Track to Pen y Pas. An alternative to this would be the path from Rhyd-du (on the western side) to the summit and then descend the path down to The Snowdon Ranger Hostel, although this would require a roadwalk back to the car park. The most safest route would be the Llanberis path but you have to return by the same route. I would not recommend The Snowdon Horseshoe at this time of year. There is a always a chance of settled snow at the summit and weather conditions can change dramatically at this time of year. Be sure to check the forcast before you walk. Have a great & safe walk. Having just completed the ascent this weekend, we went up the Rhyd-du and down the Ranger. We were staying at the Snowdon Ranger YHA with a car in the carpark and left the other of our cars in Rhyd-du.
The Llanberis path on the way to the Ranger was more treacherous than either of those routes, with smooth surface and ice adding to the hazards.
Route finding down the ranger was tricky in the zero vis, just watch out for the warning signs on the railway to get your bearings near the Pyg/Miners stone.
PS - I would not recommend the bar in Rhyd-du for its warm welcome - positively frosty in fact!

Hell there, My name is Jawad Hassan I'm looking to go snowdonia and wanted to do some sightseeing and maybe mountain climbing with my wife we are both 24 years of age. I read about some of the accident stories about people to climb in Feb-Mar season when the weather was really bad. I've told the snow has gone and I just wanted to find out if it's safe to climb or alternatively if you know of a and safer places but with a stunning view that will catch my breath.
P.S It's not alot to ask is it?
