Am i correct in thinking the Llanberis path is the best for children when wanting to get to the summit?
Is it possible to follow the rail track when the train is not running in Feb???
Any advice would be appreciated!!

You don't mention the age of your children but would I definitely recommend the Llanberris (Tourist) path at this time of year. The lower sections of the path are very easy to follow and becomes parrallel with the railway line just after the Halfway Cafe at Clogwyn Station. The path should still be easy to follow after this point but the chance of settled snow nearer the summit may make the path harder to follow.
This route is the easiest but longest route.
An alternative would be the Pyg Track from Pen y Pas Hostel. This would be best for older children as the start is already at about 1000ft and involve some light scrambling to add to the adventure.

Thanks Chris,
My children are 15 and 13, have done the pyg track with them at this time of year but had to turn round as we were not properly prepared with the correct clothing and footwear!
WE are kitted out this year but i think we will try the Llanberis path for a change!
Thanks for your help, is really appreciated!
